All right, well the annual Gem and Mineral show was this weekend. We attended tonight and I found some awesome items at great prices. Bought a few minor things for myself My Fossils The show was a lot of fun we were there like 2 hrs. I almost won something at the silent auction but missed by a little bit. There were so many things to choose from it was hard to decided what to get. I love Titanium Quartz it is so beautiful!!! Anyway, I spent $74 of the $100 I brought with me on stuff.

Car Fustrations & More

Well first off we got the new ignition switch to fire the car after we replaced the fuse and had to recharge the battery. Then the starter wouldn't stop, when it did finally stop dad couldn't get the car to move. We thought the linkage was some how unhooked. It wasn't its just dad forgot the shifter has issues and didn't slot it over into gear well enough to move it. But we know the starter does have a problem. a piece inside of it is not kicking over to turn the car on. My grandfather came over to fix that; he ended up taking it home to fix the part. So hopefully when we get it back on we can finally move that darn car on to the cleared cement pad.

I was super sore from moving all that junk. We have a huge burn pile now. And we had a rather large pile of metal but I got some friends to take that away, who make money off of it. Atleast something got done.

Seems none of you are into auctions right now. Oh well, I will try again around Christmas. Perhaps then you may buy some of them. I am thinking of forming contracts for commissions or atleast not taking commissions from anyone young then 18 years of age. I have someone I did a commission for back in August and I still have not gotten paid. Yeah I still have the item. I gave them till the end of this month to send the payment out.

I can’t wait till the October Gem & Mineral show! It should be awesome this year and they always have some awesome pieces. I hope I can get some nice rocks from them again this year. School starts up for me next week. I will be working and going to school again, meaning art will be few and far between unless I am bored in class and play with my sketch book or something. I have been thinking of using my dads pewter set to make some pewter jewelry. What do you all think? Anyway we shall see about that. I may just try some metal clay too. We do have a kiln after all.
Jaspenelle, would be nice if you commented out here lol. I will try and comment on yours from now on. I will buy the wire for your commission really soon. I do want to know if you want a silver chain or a hemp chain though. Please let me know soon.

Computer Headaches

Well I have had major issues with my parents computer. Yes, I have my own computer I use which has had no problems at all. But my parents computer on the same network has alot of major issues. We reloaded Windows because it wouldn't connect to the net and we figured windows had the issue since it had been acting weird lately. Turns out it was the router not the comp. Now we can't get XP to recognize the second hard drive. And it seems to have lost partitions on that second drive.... which XP shouldn't have even touched when reloading on the main drive. Its just being a pain... I hate XP/NT systems. Win 98 was so much better... it never fussed like this or lsot info randomly.

Well in other news I have made a few more jewelry pieces. Two of which are for sale and will be added to my sale list very soon. I am still taking commissions from anyone who wants one. you can either describe your Ideal piece or name a price range. I can work with either or both.

I'm currently trying to save up for the rock and mineral show in october that will be near by. I usually pick up some awesome pieces there so look for those. Also I will be making an InStock list for stones I currently have, so you all know what I have and what I will have to order for commissions.

I got my art supplies earlier this week. Bunch of new wire, some gold and silver chain, leather to use for necklaces, a lot of stones for wrapping, and a few additional things. I plan on working my first jewelry commission this week. Though I must wait on the second one. I will have to order the special wire for your black onyx pendant Jaspenelle.

I found out some interesting information on how to get traffic to your website in the lasted edition of Artist’s Magazine. I would recommend a subscription to this magazine. I've decided to do some normal art instead of jewelry too. Planning to enter DA's contest for a new Deviant WEAR design. Also entering Anthro Alliance's Fortitude contest. Not sure if I will have the time or energy but I would also like to enter Playstation's Design the Next Folk contest. Hopefully I will have both.

Honestly, I have felt pretty effete lately. I find myself taking a nap or sleeping late a lot. I just seem to lack both physical and mental energy... not really sure why. May it’s just the stress lately doing it. I really can't say for sure. I'm just hoping it goes away soon so I can get active again. I have been working and getting my hours back at work, there’s a management war going on. Randomly we get our hours cut for no real reason other then moodiness and being the target of the week or month. I have made a few allies and management and got my hours back a bit because of that. I wish our store manager would stop acting like a little child. --;
On another note, I did an update on my churches website for them since the original admin can no longer keep up. I am now the secondary admin for the site. Need to meet with the pastor and original administrator and decide what we want to do with the site in the future. Also my parents and I are thinking of taking over as youth ministers. In the Assemblies of God you don't need a certificate to teach a class or minister. (Thank God they didn't go all techy schooly like everyone else). Anyway, we still need to speak with the pastor on that so we shall see where that goes.

Supplies Ordered

Well, I was running low and stones to wrap and wire so I managed to order across the gambit and get some new and cool stuff along with my supplies. I have spent over $100 in supplies for making jewelry only because of the hours I pulled form the fair (which I have lost again I might add). But I have enough to buy alot of wire, some chains to make necklaces, and soem new and impressive stones.

I got a DD (Daily Deviation) from deviant art on my copper wrapped blue Agate, which came as a major surprise. And that led to about 7 new watchers total so far and 2 commissions. I am very flattered that my work is good enough for an award. And I added some extra information for anyone considering commissioning me for a piece.

In other news, I have finally cought up on all my back owed art from before I was doing jewelry. Traditional drawing can be such a pain at times. I have to be in the mood to do it. Over the last two weeks I have hand made over 20 pendants. There has been quite a bit of interest in them but no one thus far sees them as something worth buying. I am hoping to change that. I want to continue to refine my work but with out the cash to invest to do that, that goal seems to be just a dream right now. Introductions and new starts!

Hello all! First time on this site so I figured I would introduce myself.

My name’s Janel and yes Rambo is my real last name. Many people think I am using a false last name due to the movie. I assure you my last name existed before the movie. I am 20 years old and attending college to become a computer programmer. I do art on the side as a hobby and I hope to be able to sell some of my jewelry online, but I can’t say for sure if that will happen. Been making jewelry for about 3 years now and doing other forms of art for about 6 years.

I live in the great basin of Michigan. We can have some rather odd weather around here at times but out landscape is very beautiful especially up north. I currently work at McDonalds but I am trying to get a new job at Dart Manufacturing. Other then that I am active woman who enjoys hiking, biking, and working out. I also enjoy watching anime, historical, religious, and scientific shows. Anime is one of my favorites though.
